Thousands of people are expected to take to the streets of Birmingham and Sandwell today for the vibrant Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan procession. The parade, which honours the founding of the Sikh community known as the Khalsa in 1699, will start at 9:30am and run throughout the day, concluding in Smethwick at 6pm.
Parade Route
The procession will begin at Gurdwara Babe Ke in Hockley, Birmingham, at 9:30am. It will then arrive at Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha in Handsworth at 10:20am, followed by Shri Guru Ravidass at 11am, and Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed at 11:40am. The final legs include Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Smethwick at 1:15pm and Gurdwara Baba Singh Ji at 2:15pm.
