Fellow fliers observed the pair engaging in vigorous movement in their seats, described as blatant and inappropriate. One holidaymaker told reporters, "My wife and I were shocked and disgusted. We told a crew member and they came over to speak to the couple." When confronted, the couple claimed they were praying because it was their first time on a plane, a statement met with skepticism.

Despite complaints, the flight continued to its destination. However, Jet2 later removed the couple from their hotel and cancelled their return flight.
