To be eligible for the bonus, customers must use the Current Account Switch Service to fully transfer a non-Nationwide account to a new or existing FlexDirect, FlexAccount, or FlexPlus account. The switch must be completed within 28 days and requires the old account to have a minimum of two active Direct Debits to transfer over.

"Your 31 days won't start until we have everything we need and your account is open," the building society advises. A debit card is sent separately and usually arrives within 8 to 10 days of the account opening, but customers can use their existing card to make the required payment immediately.
