All Bar One at New Street Station Reopens After Major Refurbishment
A popular bar located inside New Street Station in Birmingham is set to reopen to customers on Friday, March 6, following a significant refurbishment and expansion project. The renovation has transformed the venue into a larger, design-led social destination, incorporating an empty neighbouring unit on the East Concourse.
Expanded Space and New Features
The refurbishment includes a complete overhaul of the existing bar and terrace, alongside the expansion into the adjacent unit. This additional space introduces a second bar and a dedicated semi-private events area capable of accommodating up to 90 guests. The enhancement aims to provide greater capacity for after-work drinks, business breakfasts, brunches, and various celebrations.
The redesign features warmer tones, layered lighting, and statement elements such as curved fixed seating, feature pendant lighting, and an illuminated architectural screen surrounding the new seating area. A standout feature is the revamped external terrace, which remains the only external hospitality space within the station. Additionally, an in-bar departure screen has been installed, allowing guests to monitor train times conveniently.

A spokesman for All Bar One expressed enthusiasm about the reopening, stating, "This has been a long time in the planning, and we’re already a really successful business. A Network Rail spokesman added, "All Bar One’s reopening marks the first phase of a wider plan to enhance the East Concourse as a destination in its own right. With a significant proportion of station footfall passing through this entrance daily, the investment reflects a commitment to elevating the experience for passengers and positioning the concourse as a vibrant food and drink hub."
Launch Event Details
Following the reopening on March 6, a launch event with freebies is scheduled to take place at New Street Station on Thursday, March 19. This event aims to celebrate the bar's transformation and attract both regular patrons and new visitors to the enhanced venue.
