New Birmingham Tavern Offers £5 Pints and Traditional Pub Fare
New Birmingham Tavern with £5 Pints Opens

A new bar offering pints for just £5 has opened in Birmingham, drawing inspiration from the original 17th-century taverns. The basement bar of one of the city's most luxurious sky bars has been transformed to recreate the ambiance of a historic tavern.

Stories Tavern Opens on Colmore Row

Located at 103 Colmore Row, Stories Tavern occupies the ground floor beneath the renowned 24 Stories sky bar (formerly Orelle). The venue is now officially open, welcoming guests with a selection of beers priced at £5 per pint. The concept pays homage to the early 17th century, when taverns flourished as community hubs during the stagecoach era, offering travelers and locals a place to share stories and socialize.

Vintage Decor and Modern Atmosphere

Stories Tavern features charming vintage decor blended with modern style, creating a buzzing atmosphere. Beers include lager, IPA, and Guinness, all served in traditional tankards. The food menu boasts high-quality pub bites such as amazing sausage rolls, burgers, shrimp toast, and pork pies.

The tavern was designed in partnership with historian Ron Cregan, known for his work with British heritage brands Mulberry and The Mayborne Group.

Expansion to New York

The Birmingham opening comes just weeks before a similar venue is set to debut in New York. The Tavern brand, part of The Evolv Collection, already operates in London at locations like Liverpool Street Chop House & Tavern and Paternoster Tavern in St Paul's district. The Birmingham tavern also features an outdoor terrace and access to the sky bar via lifts, where guests can enjoy a British-French seasonal menu with local produce and cocktails.

Martin Williams, CEO of The Evolv Collection, said: "We started with a simple idea: bring the £5 pint back to British cities. The Tavern concept has been extremely well received in London, and we’re looking forward to welcoming guests in both Birmingham and New York to experience our re-imagination of our founder’s vision. It’s a really exciting next step in the evolution of The Evolv Collection."
