Birmingham Council Auctions Key Aston Expressway Land Plot for £400k+
Key Birmingham Land Plot by Aston Expressway Up for Auction

Birmingham City Council is set to offload a strategically significant parcel of land situated directly alongside the busy Aston Expressway, with the sale to be conducted via a public auction later this month.

Prime Location with Major Transport Links

The plot, located on Victoria Road in Aston, spans 0.79 acres and occupies a highly prominent position. It is situated just off a major traffic island that provides direct access to the A38(M) Aston Expressway, a key arterial route into Birmingham city centre, and offers straightforward connections to the M6 motorway.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of the auctioneers Bond Wolfe, highlighted the site's considerable potential. "This valuable plot of land is right next to one of the main junctions of the Aston Expressway," he stated. "It's a great strategic position with easy access to the M6."

Details of the Auction and Site Context

The land will go under the hammer with a guide price of £400,000 or more. The auction is scheduled for Wednesday, 5 February, commencing at 8.30am. It forms one of numerous lots in Bond Wolfe's forthcoming auction event.

The irregularly shaped site is neighboured by the Masjid-E-Noor Mosque and sits directly opposite the Victoria Road Evangelical Church. The immediate vicinity features a diverse mix of property types, including religious, residential, and commercial buildings.

Mr. Bassi suggested this mix could inspire a variety of future uses for the land. "The irregular shaped parcel of land has a range of religious, residential and commercial property in the vicinity and may be suitable for a variety of uses, subject to planning consents," he explained.

A Strategic Opportunity for Developers

This sale represents a notable opportunity for developers or investors seeking a prominent site with exceptional transport connectivity in England's second city. The requirement for relevant planning permissions means the ultimate use of the land will be determined by its new owner, in consultation with the local planning authority.

The auction process conducted by Bond Wolfe on behalf of the council ensures a transparent and competitive sale, likely drawing interest from parties keen to capitalise on one of Birmingham's key transport corridors.
