Supermarket giant Morrisons has officially announced its festive trading schedule for the 2025 Christmas period, alongside highlighting a special café initiative designed to support older customers.
Morrisons Festive Opening Hours 2025
The retailer has confirmed that while specific hours may differ slightly by location, the vast majority of its stores will adhere to a standard pattern. On Christmas Eve, most branches will be open for trade from 6am until 6pm.
As expected, every Morrisons store across the country will be closed on Christmas Day. Shoppers can then head back on Boxing Day, when most locations will welcome customers from 9am to 6pm.
For the New Year period, trading hours will be slightly reduced. On New Year's Eve, stores are set to operate from 7am to 7pm. On New Year's Day, the majority will revert to a 9am until 6pm schedule.
Customers are advised to use the official Morrisons store finder online to get the precise details for their local branch.
Support for Over-60s: The 'Club 60' Café Initiative
Alongside the festive hours, Morrisons is promoting its exclusive 'Club 60' offer, available in its 344 in-store cafés nationwide. This scheme aims to help customers aged 60 and over make their pensions stretch further while providing a vital social space.
The offer includes two specially priced meal deals:
- A Small Breakfast – featuring sausage, bacon, a fried egg, hash brown, Heinz Baked Beanz, toast with butter, and any refillable hot drink – for just £6. This represents a saving of up to £2.50.
- A £10 Afternoon Meal Deal, available from midday daily, which includes fish & chips, bread and butter, a slice of cake, and a hot drink, saving up to £3.25.
This move comes in response to research indicating that nearly half (49%) of older people have cut back on meeting friends due to financial pressures.
A Community Hub with Hearty Food
Morrisons Cafés position themselves as community hubs, and the 'Club 60' offer is a direct response to the cost-of-living challenges faced by many seniors. Chris Strong, Senior Café Trader at Morrisons, commented on the initiative.
"We know many of our older customers are feeling the financial squeeze – 'Club 60' is our way of offering a welcoming space and a good meal at a great price to our customers," said Strong. "It’s a small step that we hope will help to make a difference to the pockets of our customers."
With these confirmed Christmas hours and the ongoing 'Club 60' scheme, Morrisons is aiming to cater to both the practical shopping and social dining needs of its customers throughout the festive season and beyond.
