Pop Mart Opens Bristol Store on Dec 6, Taps City's Art Heritage
Pop Mart opens new Bristol store celebrating urban art

Chinese collectible toy retailer Pop Mart has confirmed it will launch a new flagship store in Bristol city centre this week, directly aligning its brand with the area's celebrated urban art scene.

An Immersive Retail Experience for Bristol

The new outlet, located at 12 Broadmead, is set to open to the public at 9am on Saturday, December 6. Spanning 248 square metres, the shop promises an immersive retail environment designed to fuse international pop culture with local artistic vibrancy.

A company spokesperson stated that Bristol was chosen precisely because of its global reputation for creativity in urban art, music, and film. The brand sees a direct parallel between the city's transformative artistic spirit and its own mission to turn everyday creativity into accessible, high-quality collectible art.

"From the intrigue of Banksy’s early works to its dynamic independent art scene, the city’s energy mirrors Pop Mart’s values," the spokesperson said. They added that Bristol embodies the "spirit of artistic discovery and playfulness" central to the Pop Mart brand.

What Shoppers Can Find in Store

The Bristol branch will stock the full range of Pop Mart's popular character lines. While the "shy, dream-chasing" character Dimoo will be a central focus, fans can also purchase figures from the Molly, Skullpanda, The Monsters (featuring the hugely popular Labubu), and Hirono collections.

The company's business model, centred on mystery 'blind box' purchases where buyers don't know which specific figurine they will get, has driven a global phenomenon. Its Labubu dolls, in particular, have garnered a cult following, counting celebrities like Dua Lipa, Rihanna, and David Beckham among their fans.

Rapid Global Expansion Continues

Founded in 2010 by entrepreneur Wang Ning, who remains chair and CEO, Pop Mart has seen explosive growth. The Hong Kong-listed firm now operates over 570 stores and 2,500 automated ROBOSHOPs across 30 countries, with aggressive expansion ongoing in Europe and the USA.

This growth is reflected in its financial performance. For the first half of 2025, Pop Mart reported a staggering year-on-year revenue growth of 204%, with total revenue hitting approximately £1.6 billion.

The Bristol store represents a strategic move to embed the brand within the UK's creative hubs, following its earlier launches in other major cities. It marks another step in the company's plan to become a dominant force in the global collectibles market.
