The Merry Hill shopping centre in the Black Country has seen a significant retail transformation throughout 2025, with six major new stores opening their doors to the public. The latest arrivals represent a diverse mix of sectors, from cutting-edge technology and luxury jewellery to popular homeware and DIY, significantly enhancing the mall's offer for local shoppers.
A Blend of Technology and Home Improvement
EE launched a new experiential store, moving beyond a traditional shop to create an interactive space for connected technology. The investment features distinct zones, including a dedicated Gaming Zone and a community hub named 'basecamp', where customers can get expert advice and enjoy a complimentary coffee.
In the Lower Retail Park area, the national DIY giant B&Q has established a substantial new branch. This household name now offers around 12,000 home improvement products and has created 22 new jobs, providing a major boost for local home renovation enthusiasts.
Luxury and Lifestyle Additions
Luxury jeweller Goldsmiths has dramatically expanded its presence by combining two existing units into a single, impressive 6,000sq ft 'supersized showroom' in the upper mall. The state-of-the-art boutique provides an elevated shopping experience, with dedicated brand areas for Rolex and Omega, including a certified pre-owned zone for Rolex watches.
Adding a fun and affordable element to the retail mix, Flying Tiger Copenhagen opened its first Merry Hill outlet in the autumn. The Danish variety retailer is now selling its distinctive range of homeware, toys, accessories, and gifts, bringing its unique Scandinavian design ethos to the West Midlands.
Enhanced Food and Tech Offerings
Marks and Spencer has further cemented its presence with a brand-new, 92-seat coffee shop located in the heart of the Lower Mall. This new food and drink destination is part of the retailer's larger plan to consolidate its two separate Merry Hill stores into one modern flagship location.
Completing the wave of openings, an Apple Select store, operated by an official Apple Premium Partner, launched on the upper mall in November. Situated opposite the new Goldsmiths, it gives shoppers direct access to Apple's most popular products, including the latest iPhone models and the Apple Watch.
