Art Stars Raffle Doodles for Epilepsy Action, Raising £33,500
Artists' Doodles Raise £33,500 for Epilepsy Charity

World-renowned artists have donated their creative talents to a special charity raffle, generating crucial funds for national charity Epilepsy Action during the finale of National Doodle Day 2025.

Illustration Legends Support Vital Cause

An impressive roster of artistic talent participated in this year's event, including Axel Scheffler, the celebrated illustrator behind The Gruffalo, and Jason Cockcroft, known for his work on the Harry Potter series. They were joined by Alice Oseman (Heartstopper), R.W. Alley (Paddington), Guy Parker-Rees (Giraffes Can't Dance), and Ralph Steadman, each contributing unique pieces of artwork.

Fans had the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for just £10 each, with some of the artworks valued at up to £3,000. This accessible pricing strategy allowed broader participation while supporting an important cause.

Record-Breaking Fundraising Success

The 2025 National Doodle Day proved exceptionally successful, raising more than £33,500 – one of the highest totals in the event's history. This impressive sum was achieved through a combination of the doodle auction, an Olivia Colman merchandise collaboration, Doodlers Digest, and the charity raffle.

Alice Oseman, creator of Heartstopper, expressed her enthusiasm for participating: "I was so excited to be part of National Doodle Day again. Last year, the raffle of my Nick and Charlie doodle raised almost £10,000 for Epilepsy Action, which was incredible. I'm so happy to be supporting such an important cause once more."

Supporting the Epilepsy Community

Leeds-based Epilepsy Action provides essential support for the 630,000 people living with epilepsy across the UK. The charity operates an award-winning helpline, Talk & Support groups, and maintains PIF-tick accredited website information as part of its comprehensive support network.

Michael King, Doodle Day Lead at Epilepsy Action, highlighted the importance of the raffle: "We're so excited to give away these incredible artworks to some very lucky winners and we're so grateful to all the artists who have so kindly donated their beautiful works. All of the proceeds come directly to Epilepsy Action, to help the charity deliver its life-changing services."

He added: "At Epilepsy Action, inclusion is a strong value of ours, and the raffle is a great opportunity to make some of our one-of-a-kind artworks more widely available. Despite being one of the most common conditions in the UK, many people with epilepsy often feel isolated and misunderstood."

Epilepsy affects approximately one in every 100 people in the United Kingdom, with around 80 new diagnoses daily. The charity remains committed to campaigning for better services and raising awareness about the condition.
