Cardiff Babies and Toddlers to Dance for Charity Tommy's Sensathon
Cardiff Babies Join Tommy's Sensathon Charity Event

Babies and toddlers in Cardiff are preparing to wear their brightest party clothes to support a very special cause this month. Children from Toddler Sense Cardiff East and Baby Sensory will participate in the Tommy’s Sensathon to raise funds for the pregnancy and baby charity. The events are scheduled for May 21 in Roath and May 22 in Pontcanna.

Nine Sensory Challenges

The little ones will be sponsored to complete nine sensory challenges themed around the sounds and rhythms of a Mediterranean fiesta. Families will celebrate together during their usual classes through music-making, clapping, and dancing. The money raised will help Tommy’s in their work to prevent miscarriage, stillbirth, and preterm birth.

National Event with Local Impact

This local effort is part of a national event with more than 30,000 babies and toddlers taking part across the UK. The challenges are designed so that children of all abilities can join in the fun. For many of these youngsters, this fiesta will be the first time they have ever raised money for charity.

Developmental Programmes

Baby Sensory (for newborns to 13 months) and Toddler Sense (for children aged 13 months to 5 years) are developmental programmes created by Dr Lin Day, one of the UK’s leading parenting experts. These classes provide a wide range of sensory activities that encourage children to explore, play, and learn, while supporting their social, physical, emotional, creative, and intellectual development.

Supporting Tommy's Mission

Half of all adults in the UK have been personally affected by pregnancy or baby loss, or know someone who has been. Tommy’s is working to change this by funding research into miscarriage, stillbirth, and premature birth, as well as offering expert support and advice to families throughout pregnancy. The organisers are proud that these local classes are playing such an important role in helping other families.
