Persimmon Homes Essex Raises Record £7,7K for Air Ambulance Trust
Housebuilder raises £7,700 for Essex and Herts Air Ambulance

A major fundraising drive by a leading Essex housebuilder has delivered a significant boost for a critical emergency service. Persimmon Homes Essex, based in Witham, has presented a cheque for more than £7,700 to the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT) after a year of dedicated efforts.

Skydives and Bake-Offs Fuel Record Fundraising

The life-saving charity was selected as the company's Charity of the Year for 2025, inspiring a series of inventive fundraising activities. The highlight was a sponsored skydive last spring, which saw six courageous colleagues take the plunge, including managing director Richard Hush.

The wider team bolstered the total through regular dress-down days, competitive bake-off challenges, and popular online bingo sessions. This collective effort resulted in the most successful fundraising year yet for the Persimmon Homes Essex division.

Community Support for a Vital Local Service

Fundraising manager Stacey Wilson visited the Witham offices to accept the final donation. She expressed her gratitude, stating the charity relies heavily on such community support to operate. "It was amazing to meet the wider team and thank them for their incredible efforts," Wilson said. "We are extremely grateful for their continued commitment and generosity."

Richard Hush emphasised the importance of the cause, noting: "The EHAAT medics bring advanced clinical care directly to the scene of an emergency, dramatically improving the chance of survival. I am delighted that our team have been able to support their work across Essex, Hertfordshire and beyond."

Local Councillor Applauds Fundraising Success

The achievement was also welcomed by local councillor Gabrielle Spray, ward member for The Colnes at Braintree District Council. A long-time supporter of the trust, which is based in her local village, Cllr Spray commented: "Having the air ambulance based locally is a fantastic asset. The Persimmon team have done a great job of fundraising for them, which will make such a positive difference to their work."

This initiative aligns with Persimmon Homes' wider commitment to leaving a positive legacy in the communities where they build. Annually, the company's Community Champions fund provides £24,000 in funding to local schools, community groups, and charities across Essex and neighbouring areas.
