Leeds Housebuilder Raises £19,000 for Zarach Charity

A Leeds-based housebuilder recently hosted a sports spectacular to raise vital funds for a local children's charity. The Evening of Sport raised over £19,000 for Zarach, an organisation dedicated to providing beds for children in need across West Yorkshire. The event, held at The Met Hotel in Leeds city centre, was organised by the team at Barratt and David Wilson Homes.

Evening of Sport Highlights

Guests enjoyed live music and comedy alongside a sports memorabilia auction and a talk by former Northern Irish national footballer, Keith Gillespie. Lots included highly coveted signed items from Gillespie himself, the Leeds Rhinos and the Castleford Tigers.

Zarach's Mission

Zarach was founded in 2017 after a primary school teacher, Bex Wilson, discovered some of her pupils were sleeping on sofa cushions. Since then, the charity has provided over 17,000 beds to those in need, ensuring they get a good night’s sleep and a chance to thrive at school.

“We were delighted to support Zarach and the vital work it does through this amazing event,” said Gavin Birch, from Barratt and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West. “Our Evening of Sport was an overwhelming success, made possible by the tireless efforts of everyone involved. I would like to personally thank everyone who played their part, and I couldn’t be prouder of the final amount raised for the charity.”
