Masquerade Ball raises over £17k for local children

A night of spooky glamour and immense generosity has resulted in a massive financial boost for vulnerable children across Carmarthenshire. The Trick or Treat Masquerade Fundraising Ball, held at Parc y Scarlets, successfully raised an incredible £17,772 in total.

A Spooktacular Evening for a Vital Cause

Organised by the dynamic duo Kirsty Williams and Sarah Maclean, the event brought the community together for a Halloween-themed evening packed with entertainment. Guests, adorned in masquerade masks, enjoyed live music, fine dining, and spirited auctions, all dedicated to supporting the vital work of Action for Children.

The event was powerfully backed by local business, with generous sponsorship from CK Superstores and Cardigan Bay Properties. Their support, combined with the efforts of attendees and venue staff, created an overwhelming wave of community spirit.

Where the Money Will Make a Difference

The fundraising total will have a significant and direct impact. The main beneficiary, Action for Children, received over £15,000 to support its essential services within Carmarthenshire.

In a particularly impressive display of generosity, a single auction slot dedicated to the Sandy Bear charity generated more than £2,000. This organisation provides crucial bereavement support for children and families navigating profound loss.

Community Spirit Praised by Organisers and Charity

Co-organiser Kirsty Williams expressed her delight at the event's success. "We are absolutely thrilled with the success of the Masquerade Ball," she said. "The generosity of everyone who attended and supported the event... has been overwhelming. Knowing that these funds will make a real difference to children and families in Carmarthenshire makes all the hard work worthwhile."

Her co-organiser, Sarah Maclean, highlighted the deeper purpose of the glamorous evening. "This event was about more than just a great night out - it was about coming together as a community to support a cause that changes lives," she added.

The sentiment was echoed by the charity itself. Vikki Phillips, Carmarthenshire services co-ordinator at Action for Children, stated: "We are so grateful to Kirsty, Sarah, and everyone who supported the Trick or Treat Masquerade Ball. The funds raised will help us continue providing essential services for children and families who need us most. Events like this show the incredible power of community spirit."
