Festive spirits were lifted at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport as players from Stockport County Football Club paid a special Christmas visit to young patients.

Football Stars Bring Smiles to Young Faces

The first-team squad members, including Ben Hinchliffe, Kyle Wootton, Nathan Lowe, and Callum Camps, were accompanied by the club's mascot, Vernon Bear. They spent time in both the Treehouse children’s unit and the children’s emergency department, spreading seasonal goodwill.

The players took time to chat with children and their families, pose for photographs, and offer their support during what can be a difficult period. The visit was coordinated with the help of the unit's dedicated play specialist team and Stockport NHS Charity.

A Season of Gratitude at the Hospital

The footballers' visit was not the only festive activity at the Stockport hospital this season. In a separate event, the hospital's hard-working volunteers were treated to a celebratory Christmas dinner in the hospital restaurant.

Chair David Wakefield and Chief Executive Karen James OBE personally thanked the volunteers for their dedicated service throughout the year. The Agape Church Choir provided a musical backdrop of classic carols, adding to the cheerful atmosphere.

A Community Club Supporting Its Local Hospital
