Wickes Donates Gardening Tools to Clawton Primary School Garden Gang
Wickes Donates Tools to Clawton Primary School Garden

Helping the local community get the job done starts with having the right tools for the task, no matter the size of the project. Wickes is pleased to have supported Clawton Primary School in West Devon by donating a selection of sturdy short spades and gardening equipment to help their student-led outdoor initiatives. The donation was requested by ‘the Garden Gang,’ a dedicated group of volunteers who work alongside the children to maintain the school’s garden.

The tools were chosen for their durability and suitability for younger hands, ensuring the students can learn about nature and gardening through practical, hands-on experience. Wendy Ward-van Winden, volunteer for ‘the Garden Gang’ at Clawton Primary School, said: "Wickes generously donated several sturdy short spades and various gardening tools to Clawton Primary School. These have been a wonderful addition to our resources."

Hannah Randle Hockin, community engagement and social impact manager at Wickes, said: "We were happy to help Clawton Primary School with the tools they needed for their garden. It is great to see the 'Garden Gang' in action and to know that these spades are being put to good use by the children. We want everyone to feel confident in the garden, and we are glad we could offer this support."
