A popular fundraising initiative that generated over £11,000 for local causes is set to return to Chesterfield in early 2026. Chesterfield FC Community Trust has once again partnered with the Chesterfield and Sheffield-based legal firm, BRM, to launch a second Wills Month campaign throughout February.
How the Charity Will Writing Scheme Works
From February 1 to 28, 2026, BRM will waive its standard fees for writing Wills. Instead, the firm will accept voluntary donations to the Community Trust. The suggested donation is £75 for a single Will or £150 for mirror Wills, though contributions of any size are gratefully accepted.
This initiative follows the outstanding success of the 2025 campaign, which raised a total of £11,390. The funds are a crucial source of income for the Trust's wide-ranging charitable work across North Derbyshire.
Where Your Donation Makes a Difference
Every pound donated during Wills Month is channelled directly into community programmes. The Trust has provided clear examples of how specific amounts can change lives:
- £10 covers a place at an Affected By Cancer support group.
- £25 buys materials for literacy, numeracy, and wellbeing sessions in primary schools.
- £75 funds a one-to-one social prescribing session for a young person's mental health.
- £100 provides a place for a child with special educational needs on the Camp Inspire holiday scheme.
- £150 pays for a pan-disability football team to enter a regional tournament.
- £200 funds a full session for the Spireites In Mind dementia support group for former professional footballers.
Strong Local Partnerships for Community Good
The campaign is being led by BRM's executive directors, Rob Woodhead and Paul Berresford, from the firm's Chesterfield office. BRM is also a Gold Friend of the Community Trust, demonstrating a long-term commitment to supporting its services.
Rob Woodhead stated: "We are excited to launch our second Wills Month campaign. Their wide range of programmes benefit so many in our community, and we are delighted to do our bit to support their work."
Paul Berresford added: "As a Chesterfield-based employer, it's a privilege to support an organisation that does so much for the town. Anyone considering a will can register their interest, knowing their donation will help fund programmes that benefit so many."
Keith Jackson, Deputy Head of Community for the Trust, highlighted the campaign's tangible impact: "The money raised directly goes towards projects for people affected by cancer, those with dementia, and our Christmas hamper project. Last year's funds covered a year's worth of sessions for our Military Veterans Group. Your kindness will be directly changing lives."
Individuals interested in making a Will with BRM in support of the Chesterfield FC Community Trust can register their interest via the dedicated webpage at www.brmlaw.co.uk/cfcct-wills-month/ from January 9, 2026.
