Braintree Awards Nominations Now Open Until September 4

Nominations are now open for the 2026 Braintree District Volunteer and Active Braintree Awards, sponsored by Braintree Village. These awards aim to recognize individuals who generously give their time to improve communities and celebrate achievements of athletes, clubs, and coaches.

Categories and Eligibility

Nominations are welcome across all sectors including arts, sports, community, and culture. The twelve award categories include Long Service, Outstanding New Volunteer, Sports Personality, and Sports Coach of the Year. Winners from volunteering categories will compete for Volunteer of the Year, while specific sports categories automatically advance to the Active Essex Sports Awards.

Key Dates and How to Nominate

The deadline for nominations is Friday, September 4 at 5pm. Shortlisted nominees will be contacted during the week beginning September 21 and invited to the Awards Ceremony at Hedingham Castle on Wednesday, October 21.
