For more than three hours, 10 members of the Friends of Lumb Millennium Green, including three Rotarians, worked tirelessly in the heat to transform the area. Potfuls of preservative were applied to the fences surrounding the lake, with a significant amount ending up on the volunteers themselves. The grass was so overgrown that it had to be strimmed before the lower rails could be accessed. Regarding the grass, John on the ride-on mower and Andrew with the hand mower and strimmer worked wonders on the football pitch, the orchard, and the banking. The overall result was a major transformation of the green space.
Team Effort Yields Impressive Results
The orchard at Lumb Millennium Green saw a remarkable improvement thanks to the dedicated team. After all the hard work, the volunteers enjoyed a well-deserved break, sitting and chatting while savoring sandwiches and cakes kindly provided by Christine.
Upcoming Events
Please note that the next clean-up day is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, and the 'Fun & Fitness' event will take place on Sunday, July 5. The group looks forward to seeing everyone there.
