Police Arrest Teenager Following Shopping Centre Altercation

West Midlands Police have made an arrest following a serious incident at the Merry Hill shopping centre in Dudley. A 17-year-old boy sustained an injury, described as a small cut to the back, from a weapon believed to be a machete.

The altercation occurred on Friday, November 28, at around 3:30pm. According to police reports, the incident involved two groups, with one group chasing the other through the busy shopping centre.

Suspect in Custody as Police Appeal for Footage

In a significant development, officers arrested a 16-year-old boy on the evening of November 29."The suspect was held at around 5pm on suspicion of wounding with intent," a police statement confirmed. The arrested individual remains in custody for questioning.

Authorities have revealed that they received multiple calls from concerned members of the public who were present at the centre during the incident. Police are now urgently appealing for anyone with mobile phone footage or any other information to come forward.
