Boy robbed of bike by teens in Stourbridge park

A 12-year-old boy was threatened and robbed of his mountain bike by four teenagers in a Black Country park, police have said.

The incident occurred on Thursday, June 4, at around 4.55pm as the victim was leaving Mary Stevens Park in Stourbridge via the Love Lane gates. The four teens demanded he hand over his beige-coloured Canyon Torque mountain bike before making off towards Heath Lane. They may have turned onto Farlands Road and Corser Street, according to West Midlands Police.

Police have now released descriptions of the suspects and are appealing for residents to check doorbell camera footage. A force spokesperson said: “We’re asking for the public’s help after a young boy had his bike robbed while out in a park in Stourbridge.

“We received a report that a 12-year-old boy who was leaving Mary Stevens Park via the Love Lane gates on 4 June, at 4.55pm, was approached by four teenagers. The group threatened the boy and stole a beige coloured Canyon Torque mountain bike. The offenders made off towards Heath Lane and may have turned off onto Farlands Road and Corser Street.”

The suspects are described as white, of average height and build. Three were wearing mostly black clothing, while a fourth was dressed in a light grey hoodie and joggers with a black jacket and black shoes with white on the side.

Police are urging anyone in the area to check CCTV or doorbell cameras between 4pm and 5.15pm in the Mary Stevens Park area, and between 5pm and 5.15pm on Heath Lane, Farlands Road and Corser Street.
