CCTV Reveals Trap Leading to Fatal Shooting
The final moments of alleged 'Burger Bar Boy' gang member Gavin Parry were captured on CCTV, showing how a 'trap was set' for him before he was shot dead in Winson Green. Parry, 31, was blasted by a Skorpion machine gun at City Industrial Estate in Western Road at around 5.19pm on April 13, 2021.
Footage shows Parry running through the estate wearing a bulletproof vest and brandishing a Second World War-style STEN machine gun. However, he was killed in a 'hail of gunfire' before he could pull the trigger himself. According to anonymous sources, Parry was a prominent member of the notorious Handsworth gang, the Burger Bar Boys.
Conviction and Sentencing
Mechanic Theo Bailey, 34, of Victoria Road, Soho, was convicted of manslaughter by a jury at Birmingham Crown Court in November 2025 after a four-week trial. On July 6, 2026, he was sentenced to 22 years in prison. Detective Chief Inspector Jim Mahon of West Midlands Police stated that Parry was 'killed in broad daylight after a trap was set', meaning he would be 'shot upon his return'.
Parry had arrived at the scene on a quad bike, became embroiled in an argument with other men, and left. He returned around 30 minutes later wearing a ballistic vest and armed with a STEN machine gun, but the trap had already been set. Video captured Parry approaching the unit moments before he was shot.
Disabling CCTV and Concealing Evidence
Prior to the shooting, Bailey and Dante Kalsi disconnected the site's CCTV system. Additional footage showed Kalsi removing a concealed long item, believed to be one or both firearms, from Bailey's unit. A hidden hard drive containing relevant CCTV was later recovered from the site. Bailey falsely reported the incident to emergency services via 999 and misled officers about the CCTV and circumstances of the shooting.
Kalsi, 29, of no fixed address, was arrested in June 2021 when officers found five unfired Skorpion-compatible bullets at his address, along with a screenshot of a press release and prior internet searches related to firearm conversion. In November 2025, he was acquitted of murder and manslaughter but convicted of perverting the course of justice and jailed for three years.
Police Urge Public to Report Firearms
Chief Inspector Mahon added: 'Bailey and Kalsi took deliberate steps to disable CCTV to conceal the crime. Automatic firearms are exceptionally dangerous and have devastating consequences. We continue to urge anyone with information on the location of these weapons - or illegal firearms generally - to contact police, so we can remove them from our streets.'
