Police Launch CCTV Appeal Following Suspected Bottle Attack at Tamworth Pub
Staffordshire Police have issued a public appeal for information after a suspected glass bottle attack occurred outside a pub in Tamworth. The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday, January 31, outside the Overwood Arms on Overwoods Road in the Hockley area.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, between 2:00 AM and 2:15 AM, a man allegedly attempted to assault two other men using a glass bottle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the altercation. Following the incident, Staffordshire Police conducted numerous enquiries and are now seeking the public's assistance in identifying a person of interest.
Description of the Individual
The police have released two CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the case. The individual is described as:
- White male with short, dark hair
- Heavy-set build
- Wearing a white t-shirt, beige trousers, and black shoes
- Notably pictured wearing blue plastic gloves
Authorities emphasize that this person may have crucial information regarding the events that unfolded outside the Overwood Arms.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police stated: "Do you recognise this man? We'd like to speak to him following an incident outside the Overwood Arms in Tamworth after a suspect tried to assault two other men with a glass bottle. It happened between 2am and 2.15am on Saturday, 31 January. No injuries were caused."
The statement continued: "We've been carrying out a number of enquiries since the incident was reported and we're now able to share an image of a man we want to speak to in connection with the incident. He was wearing a white t-shirt, light coloured trousers and blue plastic gloves."
