A Birmingham councillor has issued a stark warning to the public, urging them not to share unverified videos online following a tragic fatal stabbing in Alum Rock. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, March 3, has prompted a murder investigation by West Midlands Police, with one man already in custody.
Details of the Tragic Incident
The stabbing took place at approximately 12:06 pm on Bridge Road in Alum Rock. The victim, a man in his 20s, was initially reported as seriously injured but later succumbed to his wounds. A woman was also hurt during the altercation; however, her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Police have confirmed that a 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder and remains in custody as investigations continue.

Detective Superintendent James Munro of West Midlands Police provided an update on the investigation, confirming that the incident appears to be contained. The police are actively reviewing CCTV footage and conducting interviews with witnesses in the area. "Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this time," Det Supt Munro stated. "We believe this to be a contained incident with a man in custody. We understand how deeply distressing and concerning this incident is and we will have extra officers in the area to offer reassurance to the community."
