Police are urgently seeking information after a jogger sustained serious injuries in a frightening dog attack at a popular beauty spot near Solihull.
Details of the Earlswood Lakes Attack
The incident occurred on Sunday, 26 October, at around 9.40am at Earlswood Lakes, a scenic location on the Warwickshire border. A man in his thirties was on a morning run with a friend when the attack unfolded.
As the jogger slowed his pace to pass a family, their unleashed dog, described as a large black animal possibly resembling a German Shepherd, suddenly turned and bit him severely on the arm. After initially letting go, the dog then pursued the victim and bit him a second time.
Police Investigation and Appeal
A spokesman for Alcester Police stated: "We're asking for a dog owner to get in touch with us after a dog bit a man at Earlswood Lakes, leaving him with a serious injury."
Following the attack, a man from the family accompanying the dog walked with the victim for a short distance. However, he left the scene without providing any contact details.
Officers are now actively gathering CCTV footage and working to trace the owner's vehicle registration plate. The investigation reference is 23/47054/25.
Call for Public Assistance
Authorities are encouraging the dog's owner, or anyone with information about the incident, to make contact directly. "It is very important that we speak with the dog's owner," the police spokesman emphasised.
Members of the public with any knowledge of the event are urged to call the non-emergency number 101 and quote the relevant investigation reference.
