Lickey Hills Golf Club Attack: Dog Injured in Unprovoked Violence

Police have launched a public appeal to find a man who carried out a shocking and unprovoked attack on a dog with a golf club at a popular beauty spot.

Details of the Disturbing Incident

The attack occurred at around 1pm on Saturday, 8 November, near the Lickey Hills Country Park and Visitor Centre in Worcestershire. A woman was walking her dog when a man, who was carrying a golf club, struck the animal in an act of sudden violence.

West Mercia Police have described the event as a distressing and unprovoked act of violence against a defenceless animal in a public space. The force has confirmed that no arrests have been made and their inquiries are actively ongoing.

Injuries and Police Appeal

The dog sustained significant injuries from the blow and was subsequently examined by a vet. The animal was found to have suffered swelling to its face and dislodged teeth as a result of the assault.

PC Bonehill, the investigating officer, is urging anyone with information to come forward. She stated: We are keen to speak with anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who may have seen a man carrying a golf club in or around the park.
