Four Arrested in Bloxwich Police Op: Drug Dealer Nabbed
Drug dealer caught in Bloxwich road safety operation

A suspected drug dealer's day took an unexpected turn for the worse during a routine police road safety operation in the West Midlands.

Unrelated Operation Yields Major Find

West Midlands Police were conducting Operation Drive Insured in Bloxwich, Walsall, on Saturday, November 15. The operation, focused on promoting road safety, involved pulling over numerous drivers for checks.

However, the focus shifted when officers stopped one motorist. A search of the vehicle revealed a bag of drugs, leading to the driver's immediate arrest on suspicion of drug supply.

Multiple Arrests and Vehicle Seizures

The drug-related arrest was not the only success of the day. Police confirmed that three other individuals were detained during the same operation.

The additional arrests included one person for immigration offences and two for driving while disqualified.

In total, the ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) interceptor team was responsible for seizing eleven vehicles during the crackdown, primarily for having no insurance.

Police Statement on X

WMP Traffic later reported the results of the operation on X, formerly known as Twitter. Their post stated: "C Unit #ANPRInterceptors conducted an operation in Bloxwich today as part of the #OpDriveInsured campaign to promote road safety. We seized 11 vehicles for no insurance, which led to four arrests - two for disqualified driving, one for drug supply and one for immigration matters."

The event demonstrates how targeted road safety initiatives can have a wider impact on community safety, leading to arrests for serious, unrelated crimes.
