West Midlands Police have launched an appeal for information after a pensioner was injured during a robbery in Walsall.

Details of the incident

The victim, described as an elderly man, was walking on Bridge Street when he was targeted on 27 April at around 7:30pm. The offender stole £250 from him and caused an injury to his hand.

On 4 June, police released images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the robbery. In a statement, West Midlands Police said: "APPEAL | Do you recognise this man? We would like to speak to him after an elderly man was robbed in Walsall. The incident took place at around 7:30pm, on 27 April, on Bridge Street. The victim was robbed of £250 and suffered an injury to his hand."

Officers are urging anyone who recognises the man to contact them. Information can be provided by calling 101 and quoting crime number 20/228726/26. Alternatively, the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555111.
