Family tribute to Vijay Kumar, 30, killed in Worcester street

The family of a 30-year-old man who died following a violent street attack in Worcester have released a moving tribute, remembering a beloved son and friend who lived with "purpose, passion and heart".

A Life Cut Short in a Worcester Street

Vijay Kumar, aged 30, was discovered with life-threatening injuries on Barbourne Road in Worcester in the early hours of Tuesday, 25 November. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 4.15am. Mr Kumar was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment but, tragically, succumbed to his injuries and died later that same day.

Police Investigation and Family's Heartbreak

In connection with the incident, five men were arrested on suspicion of murder. They have since been released on bail pending further enquiries as West Mercia Police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr Kumar's death.

In a joint statement issued through the police, his devastated family painted a picture of a vibrant and deeply caring individual. They said Vijay brought an irreplaceable energy, joy, and laughter into their lives, filling their world with warmth.

"Life was never dull with him around," the statement read. "Even in hard times, his spirit was unbreakable." The family emphasised that his love was often shown through actions rather than words—in small gestures, shared glances, and unexpected kindness.

A Legacy of Love and Kindness

The tribute poignantly concluded: "Though his time with us was unbelievably short, it was filled with meaning. His tragic departure has left us devastated and has created a void in our lives. We will miss Vijay deeply and carry his memory forward in the stories we tell and the love we share."

The police are urging anyone with information about this incident to come forward. Witnesses or anyone with relevant details are asked to contact West Mercia Police by calling 01905 331099.
