Man in Critical Condition Following Early Morning Assault
Police have launched a major investigation after a man was left with life-threatening injuries during a street attack in Worcester. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, November 25, on Barbourne Road.
West Mercia Police officers were called to the scene at approximately 4.15am, where they discovered a 30-year-old man who had sustained serious injuries. Emergency services quickly attended, and the victim was transported to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Five Suspects in Police Custody
As part of their immediate response, officers arrested five men in connection with the assault. The suspects, aged between 22 and 35, were detained on suspicion of attempted murder and continue to be held in police custody for questioning.
Detective Sergeant Corry Horobin, from Worcester CID, confirmed the arrests and outlined the next steps for the investigation. "We have arrested five people as part of our initial enquiries and are working to establish the full circumstances of the incident," he stated.
Police Appeal for Information and Increase Patrols
In the wake of the attack, West Mercia Police has implemented extra patrols in the Barbourne Road area to provide reassurance to the local community. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity and conducting door-to-door enquiries.
DS Horobin has made a direct appeal to the public for assistance: "Officers will be in and around the local area today as they obtain CCTV footage and engage with residents and the local community.
