Four Teenagers Named as Suspects in Coventry Murder Investigation
West Midlands Police have publicly identified four teenage suspects wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of 18-year-old Michael Ababio in Coventry. The force is urgently seeking information about the whereabouts of these individuals following the violent incident that occurred last month.
Details of the Wanted Suspects
The police have named the four suspects as Shakeel Ahmed, Mouhammadou Barry, and Ismail Nabeel, all aged 17, along with Mahad Mohammed, aged 19. Authorities have released photographs of the teenagers and are appealing directly to the public for assistance in locating them.
Detective Inspector Nigel Box, who is leading the investigation, stated emphatically: "We've worked around-the-clock since the tragic murder of Michael as we establish exactly what happened and who was responsible. We've made a number of efforts to locate and arrest the four teenagers we are naming today, and now need the public's help as that work continues."
Background of the Fatal Incident
The violent altercation took place outside Foleshill Library on Broad Street in Coventry at approximately 9:40 PM on Sunday, February 22. Michael Ababio sustained fatal stab wounds during the incident and tragically passed away in the early hours of the following morning.
Police have confirmed that since the attack, they have executed multiple warrants across the Coventry and Stratford areas as part of their intensive investigation. The decision to publicly name and photograph the suspects represents a significant escalation in their efforts to bring those responsible to justice.
Additional Arrests and Charges
During the same incident, a second victim was discovered outside Dixy Chicken on Foleshill Road with multiple slash wounds to his hand and arm. This 19-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of murder but was subsequently de-arrested. However, he was then arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
This individual, identified as Yahyaa Kara, has been formally charged with possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply. He made an initial appearance at Coventry Magistrates' Court last week and has been remanded in custody until his next scheduled court date at Warwick Crown Court on March 26.
Furthermore, a man aged 42 and a woman aged 31 were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both individuals have since been released on police bail pending further investigation.

Detective Inspector Box made a direct appeal to the community: "I need anyone who knows where they may be, or where they have been since Sunday, to get in touch straight away and talk to us. Michael's family deserve answers, and we will not rest until that happens."
The senior investigator issued a stern warning to anyone who might be helping the suspects evade capture: "Anyone who is helping any of the four evade capture needs to know that they too face arrest."
