A young girl has been rushed to hospital after a collision with a quad bike in a Telford suburb. The incident, which saw the riders flee the scene, has prompted a police appeal and a stark reminder about the illegal use of off-road vehicles.
Details of the Stirchley Incident
The collision occurred at approximately 12:15pm on Friday, January 9, on playing fields located off Grange Avenue in Stirchley, Telford. According to West Mercia Police, the quad bike was being ridden by two men when it struck the six-year-old girl.
Following the impact, the two men on the quad bike left the scene without stopping. Emergency services were called, and the child was transported to hospital for assessment and treatment.
Police Investigation and Public Appeal
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police confirmed the young victim sustained minor injuries and her hospital visit was largely precautionary. Officers have now launched a full investigation into the fail-to-stop collision.
