Shocking footage has emerged of a man armed with a knife attempting to force his way into a car that was stuck in traffic on a major Stoke-on-Trent road.
CCTV Captures Terrifying Incident
CCTV video shows Mohammed Amin, 38, running along Waterloo Road in the Cobridge area before approaching the driver of a stationary vehicle. The motorist was trapped in gridlock on the busy thoroughfare, leaving them vulnerable to the attack. Police officers can be seen in pursuit of Amin in the footage, which culminated in the suspect being detained on the pavement.
Police Response and Court Appearance
The incident occurred last Thursday after reports were received of an armed individual trying to enter multiple vehicles on both Cobridge Road and the connecting Waterloo Road. A Staffordshire Police spokesperson confirmed the charges brought against Amin.
Mohammed Amin, of Cobridge, was charged with three counts of common assault, two counts of possession of a knife in a public place, and one count of vehicle interference.
He appeared at North Staffordshire Justice Centre over the weekend, where he pleaded guilty to all offences. He is now awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled to take place at Cannock Magistrates' Court.
