Woman Hospitalised After Street Attack
A woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a brutal dog attack in the Woodside area of Telford. The incident occurred on Friday, November 21 at approximately 2:30pm on Warrensway.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Following a public appeal, West Mercia Police arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. A police spokesperson confirmed that two dogs have been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
At the time of the attack, police reported that one dog was on a lead and was being walked alongside a second dog that was not restrained. The breed of the dog involved has not been formally confirmed, though it was initially described as an Alsatian.
Ongoing Enquiries and Public Thanks
The arrested man has been released on bail while police enquiries continue. Officers have thanked the public for their help in coming forward with information which led to the identification and arrest of a suspect.
Authorities noted that confirming the breed of a seized dog is a formal process requiring a qualified vet, which can be lengthy. Therefore, the official breed designation remains unconfirmed at this time.
