Emergency Services Rushed to Holyhead Road

A man has tragically died after being struck by a car in a supermarket car park in Telford. The incident occurred outside the Farmfoods store on Holyhead Road.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 3pm on Thursday, November 27. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the man, who was in his 70s, was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police Launch Witness Appeal

West Mercia Police have confirmed that the vehicle involved was a black Audi A1. The force has launched an investigation into the exact circumstances of the collision and is urging anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone who has dashcam footage from around the time it happened." They ask that people contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting incident number 00260_i of 27 November.

Critical Condition at the Scene

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman described the efforts to save the man's life. She confirmed that crews discovered one patient, a male pedestrian, who was found to be in a critical condition.

Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support. Sadly, it became apparent that nothing could be done to save the man, and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

The community is now coming to terms with the sad news as the police investigation continues.
