A man has tragically died after being discovered unresponsive in a popular Birmingham park on Sunday morning.
Emergency Response in Sutton Park
West Midlands Police were called to Sutton Park at approximately 5.55am on Sunday, November 23, following the discovery of an unresponsive man.
Officers confirmed that the man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. A blue police tent was erected near the Jamboree Stone, close to the Streetly Gate entrance, as part of the initial response.
Police Confirm Death Not Suspicious
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated that the death is not currently being treated as suspicious.
The police spokesperson added: "We were called to Sutton Park at around 5.55am this morning after a man was found unresponsive. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is not currently being treated as suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
Community Reassurance Measures
Following the removal of the police tent, officers remained in the park to offer reassurance to the local community.
The police spokesperson confirmed this ongoing presence, saying: "Officers remain in the park to offer reassurance to the community."
The incident has cast a shadow over the popular green space, which is regularly used by families, dog walkers, and recreational visitors.
