A manhunt is underway following a stabbing near a primary school in Kidderminster. Emergency services were called to Woodbury Road on Friday morning, May 1, after a man in his 20s was found with knife injuries.
The victim was rushed to hospital with serious wounds but is now in a stable condition. West Mercia Police have confirmed a heightened police presence in the area as they search for the attacker.
Police Statement on the Incident
Detective Inspector Dave Knight stated: “We are working hard to locate the person or people responsible, and our communities can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area.” He emphasized that the incident did not occur on school grounds and is not connected to Birchen Coppice Primary Academy. “At this stage, we believe the suspect is known to the victim and it was a targeted attack with no threat to the wider community,” he added.
