Masseur on Trial for Assaulting Women in Massage Sessions

A masseur is on trial at Birmingham Crown Court accused of sexually assaulting three women during massage sessions. Marcelo Oliveira, 47, from St Albans, faces four charges of assault by penetration and three of sexual assault between December 2019 and July 2020.

The alleged incidents occurred at his Birmingham home and clinics in Liverpool and Knightsbridge, London. Prosecutor Matthew Brook KC told the court: "Under the guise of providing legitimate massages and being a legitimate professional the defendant sexually assaulted three women."

The court heard many clients were women recovering from cosmetic surgery who required lymphatic drainage massages. Oliveira allegedly told one victim she had the "best bum in Liverpool" before inappropriately touching her.

The defendant, who advertised on Instagram, accepted the women were his clients but denies the specific allegations. He told police he had been a qualified massage therapist for 16 years after arriving from Brazil in 2006. The trial continues.
