Men Sentenced for 'Horrific' Broad Daylight Machete Assault
Two men have been sentenced to prison for their roles in a terrifying machete attack that occurred on a Wolverhampton street in the middle of the afternoon.
Faisal Hussain, aged 20, and Jassdeep Singh, aged 21, were identified as the perpetrators of the violent assault on Barcroft Road, which took place on February 13 this year.
Details of the Violent Ordeal
The victim was targeted by the assailants, who were armed with machetes, at approximately 4:30 pm. The brazen nature of the attack, carried out in broad daylight, shocked the local community.
Despite the severity of the assault, the victim survived the ordeal. Following the incident, an investigation was immediately launched by the West Midlands Police's Major Crime Team.
Officers conducted extensive CCTV enquiries which led to the identification and subsequent arrest of both Singh and Hussain later that same month.
Court Sentencing and Police Statement
The case was heard at Wolverhampton Crown Court, where the two men faced justice for their actions.
Faisal Hussain, of Goldhill Road in Handsworth, pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article. He was sentenced to six years in prison.
Jassdeep Singh, of Ingestre Road in Wolverhampton, was found guilty of grievous bodily harm following a trial. He received a four-year jail term.
Detective Constable Leah Povey, from the investigating team, stated: "This was a horrific attack in broad daylight. There's no justification for such extreme violence and these two men will rightly be spending time behind bars for their actions."
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed the sentencing, emphasising the force's commitment to tackling serious violence in the Black Country region.
