Police have confirmed the tragic discovery of a missing Worcestershire man's body, bringing a three-month search to a sorrowful conclusion.
Extensive Search for Missing Pensioner
Andrew Phillips, aged 66, was reported missing from his home in Droitwich on September 12, 2022. His disappearance prompted an urgent public appeal by West Mercia Police, who asked for help from the local community to locate him.
Despite extensive efforts, the pensioner remained missing for over three months. The search came to a heartbreaking end just days before Christmas.
Tragic Discovery in Stoke Prior
On December 22, 2022, the body of a man was discovered in the area of Stoke Prior. Following a formal identification process, authorities confirmed on January 12, 2026, that the deceased was Andrew Phillips.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police provided the update, stating: "The body of Andrew Phillips, who was reported missing from his home in Droitwich, has been found. Andrew was reported missing in September and his body was discovered on December 22 in Stoke Prior."
Family's Request for Privacy
The force confirmed that Mr Phillips's family were informed of the discovery at the time. Formal identification procedures have now been completed.
In their statement, police emphasised the family's wishes, saying: "Andrew’s family have requested for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time."
Officers also confirmed a crucial detail regarding the circumstances. They stated that Andrew Phillips's death is not being treated as suspicious. This indicates that no foul play is suspected in connection with the tragedy.
