An off-duty police officer has been arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency following an alleged incident in a car park in the Midlands. The arrest comes after CCTV footage of the reported encounter was widely shared on social media platforms.
The footage reportedly shows a man and a woman engaging in a sexual act in a pub car park in Shropshire. A member of the public who viewed the video expressed shock, stating: "I am horrified this man is in the police. It's shocking and sickening that this involves somebody in a position of authority."
The alleged incident is said to have taken place in April of this year. West Mercia Police have confirmed that an officer has been arrested in connection with the event. A spokesperson for the force told BirminghamLive: "A man has been arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency relating to an incident in north Shropshire in April this year. We can also confirm this relates to an off-duty police officer."
