A woman has described the horrifying moment her boyfriend was knocked unconscious in an unprovoked attack while they were shopping in Birmingham.
Attack in Yardley Road
Tia was out shopping with her partner on Wednesday, May 27, at around 10:30 am when the incident occurred in Yardley Road, near Yardley Cemetery. The couple noticed a man approaching from behind before he suddenly launched a vicious assault.
Tia said her partner was knocked unconscious, with his 'eyes rolling back', as she desperately tried to pull the attacker away. She stated: 'He then calmly walked back the same way he came, which made it feel like he specifically approached my boyfriend to attack him.'
False Accusations
The attacker accused Tia's partner of being in a gang and targeting women and children, which she described as completely untrue. 'My partner is a hardworking man who goes to work, comes back, plays Xbox and spends time with his girlfriend and family,' she added.
Tia praised two members of the public who stopped to help. 'We're both so grateful,' she said. 'A man called an ambulance and there was another man who kindly dropped us back home.'
Description of the Attacker
The attacker is described as around 5ft 8in tall, with an afro hairstyle and prominent cheekbones.
