Police have issued an urgent public warning and are hunting for a dog owner who fled the scene after their Alsatian attacked a woman in Telford, leaving her with injuries requiring hospital treatment.

Details of the Woodside Dog Attack

The incident occurred on Warrensway in Woodside, Telford, at around 2.30pm on Friday, November 21. The victim was attacked by an Alsatian dog that was on a lead at the time. The owner was simultaneously walking a second Alsatian which was off its lead.

Following the attack, the owner left the scene before the victim could be treated. West Mercia Police confirmed the owner has not yet been identified. Ambulance crews treated the woman at the location before she was transported to hospital, where she remained for her injuries.

Police Appeal and Public Safety Warning

Inspector Gavin Williams of West Mercia Police has voiced significant concern, stating, "We are keen to identify the owner, as we believe the dog may pose a further danger to the public."

Officers are urging anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly interested in hearing from:

  • Anyone who was in the area at the time.
  • Individuals who may have relevant doorbell video footage.
  • Local dog walkers who might be aware of someone who walks two Alsatians.
