Police are urgently searching for a suspect described as wearing a festive Christmas jumper following a serious assault outside a hotel in Telford.
Early Morning Altercation Leaves Man Hospitalised
A man in his 20s sustained serious injuries during an altercation outside The Station Hotel on Station Road in Wellington, Telford. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 20 December 2025, at around 1am.
Emergency services rushed the victim to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition receiving treatment for his injuries.
Distinctive Suspect Description Released
West Mercia Police have issued a detailed description of the man they wish to trace in connection with the attack. The suspect is said to be a white male, of a heavy build, with dark hair and a dark beard.
Officers have highlighted a particularly notable item of clothing. It is believed the suspect was wearing a red, green, and white Christmas jumper at the time of the incident.
Appeal for Witnesses and Information
Investigating officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of The Station Hotel around the time of the assault. They have also identified a specific potential witness.
"We would also like to hear from anyone who was at The Station Hotel, or in the area, around the time of the assault," a police statement said. "Officers are particularly keen to speak to a white man, also described as wearing a Christmas jumper, who is believed to have witnessed the incident."
No arrests have been made so far. Authorities are asking anyone with information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, to make contact.
