A quadbike rider has sustained life-changing injuries following a serious collision with a BMW in Smethwick. The incident occurred on Hagley Road West, near the Miller and Carter restaurant, shortly after 7pm on Friday, 12 June.
Details of the Collision
Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 7:10pm after reports of a crash involving a quadbike and a black BMW M4. The quadbike rider, a man in his 40s, was seriously injured and taken to hospital. Police believe his injuries are life-changing. The quadbike was left severely damaged in the impact.
The driver of the BMW remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with police inquiries.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: 'We responded to a collision between a car and a quadbike on Hagley Road, Smethwick, last night (12 June) shortly before 7.10pm. We would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident to get in touch by calling 101 quoting incident number 4955 of 12 June.'
Hagley Road West was temporarily closed following the crash but had reopened by Saturday morning.
