Police have launched an investigation following a stabbing incident in Birmingham this afternoon. The victim, a man in his 20s, sustained a stab wound to his hand on Station Road in Stechford on Thursday, June 4.

The precise location of the offence has not yet been confirmed, but local residents reported to Birmingham Live that Stechford Leisure Centre, formerly known as the swimming baths, was "all cordoned off" around 3pm.

West Midlands Police stated that the investigation is still in its early stages and urged anyone with information to come forward. A spokesperson for the force said: "We're investigating after a man was stabbed in the hand in Stechford this afternoon. We were called to Station Road at around 1.15pm, and the victim, in his 20s, suffered a stab wound to his hand. One Birmingham resident commented: "What's happening at Stechford swimming baths? All cordoned off and police presence. I just got a call from a friend who lives at the back of the swimming baths to say it's all cordoned off, no blue tent just police tape everywhere."
