Police Respond to Reports of 'Children with Knives'
Police were called to an incident involving youths reportedly carrying knives in the Kings Norton area of Birmingham on Sunday afternoon.
West Midlands Police's specialist Project Guardian Team 2 responded to the scene near Shannon Road following reports of disorder and young people in possession of blades.
Arrest and Charge Following Foot Chase
The incident occurred at approximately 3.20pm on Sunday, November 23. Officers conducted searches of multiple individuals in the area.
During their operation, one youth attempted to flee but was apprehended following a short foot chase.
A 17-year-old boy was detained and found to be in possession of a lock knife.
Court Appearance Scheduled
The teenager has since been charged with possession of a bladed article.
He has been released on police bail and is scheduled to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on December 9 to face the charge.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed the arrest and charge, noting that a knife was successfully recovered during the operation.
