Teenager Charged with Murder After Fatal Stabbing Outside Smethwick Mosque
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder following the tragic death of 18-year-old Zeshan Afzal, who was fatally stabbed outside a mosque in Smethwick. The incident occurred on Oldbury Road just before 9pm on Friday, February 20, and Zeshan was pronounced dead shortly after being found with serious stab wounds.
Police Investigation and Court Appearance
West Midlands Police have confirmed that the defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on February 26 for a first hearing. Authorities are continuing to appeal for information from the public, urging anyone with mobile phone or dash cam footage to come forward.

His kindness, generosity, and laughter touched everyone who knew him."
