Chilling Note Confession in Birmingham Park Murder Case
A chilling note left by teenage killer Kian Moulton has revealed his confession to the murder of 12-year-old Leo Ross in a Birmingham park. The note was discovered in Moulton's custodial room ahead of his trial, where he admitted to the brutal stabbing.
Details of the Murder and Confession
Kian Moulton, now 15 years old, was sentenced to life in prison for the random act of violence that occurred last year. However, he could potentially be released in just 13 years, meaning he would only be 27 at that time. The note, found in July, explicitly stated: “I’m not going to lie. I will hold my hands up and say that I done it. I stabbed him. Lower right stomach.”
This confession came after Moulton had already pleaded guilty to murder, two counts of inflicting grievous bodily harm, assault, and possession of a knife in public during a court hearing last month. The teenager, from Yardley, is currently being held at a young offenders institute in London.
Background of the Killer and Previous Attacks
Before targeting Leo Ross, Moulton had engaged in a spree of unprovoked violence. He cycled around a park in Hall Green and attacked three elderly women. These incidents highlight a pattern of aggressive behavior that culminated in the murder of the young schoolboy as he walked home from school.
Justice Choudhury, during sentencing, branded Moulton's actions as 'cowardly'. He commented on the teenager's sophisticated and callous thinking, designed to mislead others and derive amusement from his crimes.
Ongoing Issues in Custody
Since being taken into custody, Moulton has continued to display violent tendencies. There have been multiple incidents where he has been violent towards staff, other inmates, and even himself. This behavior raises concerns about his rehabilitation and the safety of those around him.
The case has shocked the Birmingham community, emphasizing the need for vigilance and support in addressing youth violence. The discovery of the confession note adds a haunting layer to this tragic story, underscoring the cold-blooded nature of the crime.
