The family of a devoted father have paid an emotional tribute after he was killed in a road traffic collision in Nottinghamshire.

A Tragic Morning Collision

Phillip Tetley, aged 42, suffered fatal injuries after being struck by a car on the A620 Straight Mile. The incident occurred close to HMP Ranby at approximately 7.55am on Monday, December 1.

Members of the public rushed to assist Mr Tetley before the arrival of emergency services. Despite their efforts and those of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Family's Heartfelt Tribute

In a moving statement released through Nottinghamshire Police, his devastated family honoured his memory. They said: "Phil was a much-loved husband, son and father to four and stepfather to three."

"He was the kindest and most thoughtful man and friend to many," the family added, painting a picture of a man cherished by his wide circle.

The family have now requested privacy as they grieve, with specially trained officers providing them with support.

Police Investigation and Appeal

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that the driver of the car involved stopped at the scene and provided an account to officers.

Detective Sergeant Jo Eaton, of the force's serious collision investigation unit, said: "Our thoughts are with Mr Tetley’s family, friends and loved ones following this tragic incident."

DS Eaton also expressed gratitude, stating: "I’m grateful to those members of the public who assisted at the scene and have provided information to support our investigation."

The investigation into the exact circumstances of the collision on the A620 Straight Mile remains ongoing.
